that might be true, but also might be false. Warcraft is a great strategy game, and I do believe that they will continue where they left off.
Personally, i think that they should definetly make a wc4. Many people (like me) don’t have good internet access (or any internet access at all) for playing world of warcraft. Also, some of my favorite things about playing wc3 is building, making armies, and destroying bases, not just using my hero.
One problem with creating a ‘prequel’ to WoW after WoW is out, is that the story of wc could become flawed

Well, Babisata is an idiot. XD Had to say it. And Zup brought up a good point. WoW sales has nothing to do with Warcraft III or IV sales. They’re completely different games with the same storyline. WoW is an MMORPG and Warcraft is an RTS. Seriously, not everyone can play online games and some don’t like MMO’s. So, apparently they’re going to make Warcraft IV to appeal to RTS gamers, MMO haters, and offline gamers. Also, they’re going to do it so Babisata looks like more of a dumbass. XDXDXD
well I myself would like too see a WC IV because i have played III and i ocationally still do cuz i love the game but when you think about it Warcraft IV would be a very hard game too make. firstly when do they base it? After WoW i guess but they haven’t finished all the WoW expansions yet have they so that could be a problem. Also comes the question would they need too make changes to the game play. I recon warcraft 3 gameplay is good and to make it better would be quite hard. Then they will have to think about the graphics. Make the graphics two good then internet play might run slow and world editer if they had it again might be abit more complex and make things more difficult. Were as if they had the graphics too poor then it would probably seem more like an add on rather than a new game all together. Also what extra features would they add. things like races could be solved easy enough i guess but if only things like other races were added than yet again it would maybe only be seen as a stand alone expansion rather than a new game. Maybe adding features like makin your own hero might be a way to go but if you wanted to focus on a hero than WoW is the game for you. I’m not saying WC IV will not come im just saying taht it will be difficult and with a huge game like WoW will they see a point in making it. Than again i most probably am wrong they probably will make a WC IV and i hope they do but a abit like “P[[” say it wont be out for ages maybe not a drastic as 2018 or something but i doubt it will be made by 2012.

i hate WoW … the best game ever with the best sales is WC3 … there are thousands of players still playing on battlenet worcraft 3… ! i hope will apear soon WC4 …
im sure they will make a WC4. they first probably want to see how good SC2, D3, and another WOW expansion. and if sales are good then WC4 time! my guess is 2014-2015? and WOW kinda trailed off on its on story path so it really has nothing to do with WC RTS. kinda like comparing SC and D story’s.
They’ll make a WC4, but I doubt they’ll shut WoW down for a good couple years, even after WC4 is released. They may add content and split off into an alternate story after they release WC4, or just half-ass some lore that won’t effect the big picture. Warcraft is really what gave Blizzard the ability to rock the RTS world, and I doubt they’d let that part of their franchise die. Right now though, they’re gonna focus on SC2, and D3.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but God help you, if you’re going to put it out there, take an extra fifteen seconds to post a legible post, and not some horribly grammar deprived garble. Seriously people, people like Barbisata are the reason the population of America’s IQ is plummeting.
WoW and Warcraft, aint the same, there is a big a chance that there will be a warcraft 4 as any other expansion games, cus WoW is single Hero/character and got nothin to do with a game like wc3, (exept the past history), if we go the theory most of u does, then the next will be named Warcraft 6 and u will be able to reach lvl 80 in World Of Warcraft, so its not right, there are no proves that there will come a wc4, just some lame rumors..

Warcraft 4 is entirely possible and, as I see it, there are two possibilities for it.
1. It will be an RTS that focuses primarily or partially on content already accomplished in WoW. There’s not really much that can be said about this possibility.
2. It will be an RTS that picks up wherever WoW leaves off. After the current WoW expansion is “beat” (ie The Lich King is killed and becomes just another boss), WoW will have little ground to expand on. Despite the huge populous of WoW, it is slowly becoming outdated, and it will die off eventually.
It is of course possible that Blizzard will just let the Warcraft story die with the end of WoW. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
(Another possibility might be a Warcraft prequel, with a game that includes content from before any of the Warcraft games).
Whoever said Warcraft 4 is a myth and World of Warcraft is W4, is an idiot. Warcraft 4 will be an Strategy game just as Wc3. WoW, WoW:BC, WoW:WotLK are all WORLD OF WARCRAFTS. Get it through your head, Jesus!

(Sorry for double post) I think they could easily make more content for warcraft 4 by simply having some new race come through a portal, or having aliens come to the Warcraft Universe! PS: I like the portal idea alot, and it is considerably practical!
there will be a warcraft 4. as a player of world of warcraft and as a avid supporter of blizzards i am always current on these things.. with the recent relese of (WOTLK) wrath of the lich king blizzard has announced that there will be no more expansions to world wow warcraft untill the relese of warcraft 4. which basicaly says hey were working on warcraft 4. dont ask me when but its under development!
There is a 4 year gap between Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft, so theres plenty of room for a sequel (or sequels)

The problem is, not much happened at that time, all races were just rebuilding…there were just some minor arguments, hatred and misunderstandings between Alliance and Horde in Kalimdor (Warcraft novel Cycles of Hatred) but nothing really to get good storyline for Warcraft IV. What Blizzard should do….is set Warcraft IV 5-10 years after Warcraft III and ignore most of the shit that “happened” in WoW. They could use some story elements from WoW, like Dranei’s arrival, the reopening of the Dark Portal, but the main focus should be on Arthas and his plans and build the story around it whit suprises and maybe new races. I know that they build somekind of storyline for Arthas in Wrath of the Lich King, hopefully they just ignore it in Warcraft IV.
Tbh, i wanna see warcraft 4. Simply because WoW was shit. Compared to warcraft 3 it was an utter disapointment. I wanna see what happens with Arthas + The Lich King, and the return of illidan (to kick the crap out of arthas :P)
ALso,, like many others, i enjoyed building uber bases with lots of lets say footmen , knights and the mortar teams

warcraft 4 is actually world of warcraft , stupid noobs . and the burning crusade and the lich king are the adons that is to be warcraft 5 - burning crusade for the new world of warcraft and races , and warcraft 6 is to be lich king for the lich and the new land . and for the items pets and mounsters and not to forget about the mount .
There is going to be a Warcraft 4 otherwise they can’t continue world of warcraft. Unless you are an idiot you should know that High Elves are blood elves and Dranei were also in warcraft, so no, those 2 races in world of warcraft didn’t just come out of thin air. If warcraft 4 isn’t created then blizzard will not be able to keep coming out with new wow expansions that make any sense, and they will lose over half of their business to the half that actually cares about the story. (I know i do)
WOW can’t be warcraft 4 its BASED on the lore set out in there books and Warcraft 3, there are only 2 more expantions they can do for WOW, Emerald Dream and Maelstrom after that there screwed if they haven’t got Warcraft 4 out. it wouldn’t be to hard to do just chuck in a couple more races new graphics and more lore to add on to the end of Warcraft 3 and the books.
I reckon they will end up making a WC4, but i’d like to see them make the game more like Rome: Total War - in terms of having regiments of units, flank charges, morale, etc, rather than individual troops that you train and just smack each other till they die, so it’d make the game more tactical rather than the winner being decided by who can mass the biggest army the soonest. A turn based campaign with regions you capture through Azeroth would also be kinda cool…anyway i’m not saying it’d be easy or that it would even happen, but it would be kinda cool

The timeline is simple. Before Wotlk and during the burning Crusade. Show the story of killing Illidan. Or show the story of killing Illidan, th ris (revenge) of arthas, and possibly his downfall.

are they making a warcraft 4 if so these are some of the ideas id like to see put into the game first the new rases i think they should be the Naga, Draenei and the Blood elves also with new races new buildings, heroes, charaters and the story line should pick up where the frozen throne left off or come up with a hole new story line

there will most definatley be a wc4. world of warcraft is in no way shape or form the sequel. warcraft is a game about war. or else there would be no need to create an army. but those of you who play wow, now the a expansion is comming out and the horde is going to war with alliance because of garrosh. mmeaning there will be new lore for a wc4. and then wow and wc4 with concide with similar story lines.
As an avid gamer, ive played many different online games and also RTS games, by far Warcraft 3 reigned above the RTS classification and WoW reigned over all MMORPG’s. The epic lore and stories to go along with the games is why I play games at all, if there is no good story, there cannot be a successful game. If they were to continue off of the warcraft series with a Warcraft 4 I’d be very interested to know how the story will go. Will it coenside with WoW and follow the same storyline? and how would this effect the heroes that we play within WoW? wouldn’t be perfect matches but would they implement the difference between say a Holy Paladin to a Retribution Paladin? Or would the game continue after WoW, and how will this effect the possibility of a World of Warcraft 2? So many questions that just make the imagination cause you to go insane with anticipation. My vote is definitely Pro-Warcraft 4, and id very much like to see the reimplementing of the Battle-Net Custom map editor to make online much more interesting.
Something I just realized as another question. What will the death of the Lich King have to do with the upcoming RTS? As was said, for those that don’t know, there Must be a Lich King. Who would take up the mantle? My bet is one of the Paladin’s, possible Tirion or Highlord Fordragon possibly, my bet’s on Tirion however, you would need an extremely powerful spirit/soul to be able to resist the dark presence within the Lich Kings armor and within Frostmourne, Arthas, sadly, was not powerful enough, let down his guard when he went to any length to protect his people. An honorable cause, but not taken so lightly…
i dont think it would be hard really. I think that about the story it’s self shouldn’t be really hard they could just follow the story of the arthur again. and The quality of Warcraft III and than in Warcraft IV could be a lot batter, they could also change some heroes in WcIV for example Thrall and rexarr. into the game and remove the heroes that never did have any special roll in the story line. There is a lot of thing’s that could be done in WcIV that would improve it’s selling and interest In the RTS style again. I mean Blizzard has become a large company and known thanks to the Warcraft RTS. and i think that if they would work on it and tryed their best it would be 1 of the top selling game’s in the world again just as it was in the year 2000 and before. They say Legend’s never die and that people look up to the games that were in their year’s really amazing (legendary) so do you really think that a game that would come alive after 8years mb 10 years since the WcIII came out really have no meaning? , and wouldnt sell? it would be one of the most top selled games for the next 5 years or more again.
and about the lich king. Arthus never died , his alive and why change it? they could just make the story move on arthus rises again , try’s the same thing again but with more ambition , more strategy and more agressive xD
