Diablo 3, It’s got upgraded graphics, to be on Par with World of Warcraft, if that is bad, I’m not sure It’s your desicion, I think there fantastic. but the gameplay is exactly the same, but theres also new items, zones etc. and a new damn good pvp system, where you can take over cities and castles etc. damn its fun, I’m on my cousins computer at the moment, Hes got acsess to the closed BETAS, blizz has decided to announce a few weeks before release (early march 2009) for some reason…

what you say has alot of truth but why would they make a mmo for starcraft or wc3 when they are earning around £64 million/ $90000 i think on WOW
because there are all of us rts fans that are out there and i’ve played a bunch of them on handhelds, pc’s everything and war3 brings me back again and again
I do know that they’re making another patch for war3 1.22, so they haven’t completely forgotten about us. But I think that a war4 could bring in a decent amount of money for them as well as keeping their loyal fans even longer and not losing them to a company who will make one
Well, a Wc4 would make sense…. I just checked Wikipedia to be sure (haha.).
SC was released 1998 or 1999
D2 was relased 2000
Wc3 was released 2002
SC is updated(SC2) first.
Diablo is updated(D3) second.
WC is updated(Wc4)third.
This only means Blizzard may or may not continue the pattern… Whatever just logical speculation…..

So Blood Elves and Dranei will have a seperate race, what about the Nagas? The story ended without telling what really happend after the death of Illidan and its aftermath on the Nagas and Blood Elves.

Then, it would be possible to have DoTA 2 after sometime in the release of WCIV.
Now we know Diablo 3’s announced, and a ‘next-gen’ MMO is in the works. I’m thinking this MMO is either StarCraft or a new franchise. But we also know they are working on a new Warcraft project. This ‘next-gen’ MMO could be that, but I really doubt it since they don’t want to ruin the success of World of Warcraft, thus losing them a lot of money.
So the questions is, is this MMO the new project, or something different all together? I’m almost sure Wc4 is in the works.
Now doesn’t it seem like WotLK is wrapping up the story? I mean, raiding parties will be able to fight Arthas/Lich King! To me it makes sense that a Warcraft 4 can come after this. They’re going to try to keep WoW going for a while though, it’s a really good source of income.
@LiLdevil, that could of been why it turned out the way it did so far, but it probably really doesn’t matter.

I think that there has to be a warcraft 4 because you never end a series at 3. It will have an entirely different world editor and a complete new view. There will be overhead cameras and an option to change cameras to 3rd or 1st person. I will not be surprised if there are no races. There will probably be something new or unsuspected like ogre or murloc.

The Lore has kind of been messed up due to WoW, for example the trailer for Fury of teh Sunwell patched showed the Blood Elves escaping Azeroth thru the portal in an area called Blasted Lands, when actually the escaped thru the portal on top of Dalaran with Lady Vashj the very portal which Kel’Thuzad used to summoned Kil’Jaden, that and other small things have screwed up the lore,
As well as Illidan Dying, and Lady Vashj, (they r said to be dead after Fury of the Sunwell patch came out) Thats one lose ed tied up (illidan) and once WotLK comes out and Arthas Dies, thats another lose end.
Which ends with WC4 maybe being one of these 5 options (ofc there are more option in which the storyline cud follow tho these r the obvious ones)
1. The Hunt for Kil’jaden and the end of demons and yada yada (Kil’jaden wasnt killed in Fury of the Sunwell just sent back)
2. They go back in time and the game will be about the Titans and the Old Gods.
3. The Horde and Alliance fight on!, WC4 cud contain the same Allegiances which where created in WoW
4. the story continues with the freedom of the Blood Elves and Dreanai, and the Wrath of the Naga, (revenge upon the Night Elves and)this mite mean the older races cud be included.
5. the story mite continue but the lore about the War of The Ancients wood influnce the comin future of lore, meaning the fights between naga, Blood Elves and Night Elves will start to influence the future, destoryin the world maybe and the other races mite need to intervene
well those r my thoughts, even tho i love WoW, i hate how it screwed up the lore…the 5 points in which i think cud be the future of wc4, are somewhat accurate or cud be complete bull
I am almost positive that there will be or already is a Warcraft IV in development. Blizzard announced that they are working on a new WC project, and I have severe doubts of this being a WoW 2. Why WC4? Because in WoW: LK, Arthas is dead, along with just about every evil thing the WC games had to offer. The WoW franchise is thus, dead. The only profit-wise choice is a WC4. It will create some new storylines that people need to ruin in future WoW Expansions
Some possible plots of the story (most probable to least probable)…
1. The Horde and Alliance temporarily bond to open up the gates in Outland that Illidan closed (going to other worlds)?
2. WoW: LK is the end of The Frozen Throne (because it never ended, really.), thus WC4 would take off where WoW ended, Horde and Alliance, and their respected allies, against each other.
3. WC4 could actually be a prequel to the first game (dunno all the lore, so i really dont know about this one)?
NEW RACES:
Dranei
Blood Elf (redone with its own heroes and buildings)
Naga (redone with its one heroes)
Demon (the ‘death’ of Kil’jaeden in WoW could have loosened his grip on some demons as what happened with Arthas)

Warcraft Series was awesome, I loved it and I hope they make WC4, but if they do, they need to split the Timeline, 1 for Wow and 1 for Warcraft Series because as stated, Wow is killing the Lore.
Several differant things can happen in my opinion
1. a game with with WoW and warcraft combined into one game and two different modes! One where you play warcraft IV and continue the story for a campaign and you can play in battle.net another where you play on wow with you’re “hero” and he carries over to a type of game onto battle.net where you’re race is whatever race you’re wow characters is and he is you’re hero and he also looks like you’re character on wow =O For those who don’t want to spend $120 or so for both games can buy the games separately but the feature with you character will be canceled of coarse on w4. Maybe they would offer a discount for buying the “war chest” or whatever they call it with like $10 off. With doing so, combining the games.
2. THEY USE CoT!!! In WoW future or past which ever timeline they want to use is different from each other or one goes to the passed and other goes to the future.
3. Stop WoW for sometime or at least expansions (very very very in probable) and add some more lore to ruin.
4. JUST ADD BETTER GRAPHICS TO W4 IN A PATCH OR SOMTHIN TO W3 PLZZZZZZZZ

wc4 might come out (or a sequel 2 wc3 ) since BLIZZARD have earned enough money from WOW ,WOW the burning crusade & WOTLK so they maight be doing the project sometimes later however, new races might not come because it will be too hard to think a balance between units (e.g. bloodelves and naga )
Oh , by the way, DIABLO III and STARCRAFT II (let alone WOTLK ) costs so much time that some fans says that theese games can only be oficailly released by 2009 or spring 2010. Proves that wc4 is going to take a longgggggg time to complete and release.
BLIZZARD might also made a WORLD OF STARCRAFT cause WOW itseft make them rich BUT!!!!! there will be some problems :

LoL…does anyone actually know the history of Blizzard? They asked Gamesworkshop if they could make a game about warhammer. The request was denied so they made their own “original” game titled warcraft: orcs and humans. Now I will say that I love the warcraft series, but I will acknowledge the fact that they took all of their original ideas from Warhammer. Starcraft has Warcraft influences? Not really…the races are based off of races in Warhammer: 40,000. Terran - Space Marines, Zerg - Tyranids, and Protoss - Eldar. It is really that simple…
My thoughts on Warcraft 4, it will most likely be a prequel. The new MMO that they are working on is probably a new franchise or WoW 2. Oh yes, Warcraft 4 is more than likely already in development. (Blizzard began work on Diablo 3 immediately after Diablo 2’s release, they just had most of the team working on Warcraft 3. Same goes with Starcraft 2.)
I think the story of WC4 will be based on some information we dont know, that happened in the past just to clear some things, maybe it wont be called WC4, maybe the story will be about how all this chaos started and some secrets of the races will be revealed, maybe some traitor again, maybe some old race bfore humans like orcs or somthing, i dunno. Or going to the future and confusing you whit the weird things happening and then at the end revealing some dark secret of what happened and that is all.

I see a lot of people talking about how WoW messed up the lore…
If you really look at it, Blizzard is controlling the lore…
They have the say on whether or not a plot character is actually killed, such as Kil’jaden…
Just look at it…
Think of WoW as an RTS with a very long campaign that is not played all the way out yet…
There will have to be a cutoff point on the lore for WoW…
Otherwise the game would become far too long for new players or someone starting a new character…
So imagine that WOTLK is the last instalment…
There are so many characters left over, and the story can continue…
Blizzard is fantastic at bringing the story into a new light, just look at the development from WC1 all the way up to now…

They will make a WC4 when WoW becomes much less popular, look at all kinds of games, they develop and change so expect WC4 in about 10 years. It’s simple economics, supply and demand, demand for WoW is up so when it goes down they come up with something else. This is why Blizzard is a rich company and can afford the best programmers to create the best games.
I hope there will be a warcraft4 and a new dota will come too!!!:)

I think that even that wow is based on wc …it think that it doesnt break the lure….cause it is freestanding game and I see no problem to continue both games…wow and wc…..simultaneously…..there are many players in the world…and the games wouldnt affect each other in the numbers of players play them :)….that is my opinion

Heh, the only races I want to see in here are the Naga and the Blood Elves in WC4. I can’t wait for this to be made… and I’m sure that whatever lore Blizzard comes up with, I most likely will be satisfied with it. like 99.9% will love it. I have yet to play SC or SC2, and probably will not. Hopefully they never make a SC MMORPG though.

I disagree with ReXXaR … I don’t think they should make a prequal series. The game would be better if it progressed from where it left off … units need to evolve into new exciting units rather than de-evolve into something more primative than what they have already appeared in the whole WC series.
I can’t say i have played the first warcraft … but i imagine the units were very primative.

The latest panel from BlizzCon has been about Starcraft 2. The big news is that the campaign will be split into three separate parts, each being sold as a stand alone game. (people were booing this decision)
This is to ensure a faster release and a more polished campaign. Each of these will feature the same multiplayer experience, however you will have to purchase a separate product to play each of the campaigns.
In other big news, it was also announced the Warcraft 4 will use the same sort of system, which basically confirmed that Warcraft 4 is in the works!

Wracraft 3 & world of warcraft’s history has been twisted . Blizzard says they will write up about that some other day which may indicate that the “twisted part” might be in warcraft 4
they probably wont make it because it will hurt the wow sales…..
I like the additional races.. Split the horde into trolls, tauren, orcs, blood elves and undead… And the alliance human, dwarves, gnomes, night elves, and draenei. plus a lot more races.. Maybe satyrs, tuskarrs, demons, nathrezim and etc… I want them to add maybe 4-6 races.. hehehe.. And this game wouldn’t be boring after maybe 10 yrs.. but the problem is balance.. yet players can make new strategies, gameplays, techniques and etc….
