The blog Tobolds doesn’t believe in another sequel of a Warcraft RTS Game. But not because of Starcraft 2 and the potential competition with Warcraft 4. The authors thinks, that Warcraft 4 wouldn’t have such a great commercial success compared to WoW and other MMORPG. In his opinion Warcraft 4 would just be a “reasonably well selling RTS in a huge crowd of other RTS games”.
My personal take on that is that I doubt that “Warcraft 4″ will ever be released. Not because of lore, because lore can always be fudged. But because of the far more mundane concept of “return on investment”. Which investment do you believe would give higher returns, “Warcraft 4″, “World of Starcraft”, or some WoW expansion? In my opinion the WoW expansion is a sure moneymaker, World of Starcraft would be a potential multi-million dollar earner, and Warcraft 4 would just be a reasonably well selling RTS in a huge crowd of other RTS games. Blizzard has simply grown too big and too successful to still waste their time on some RTS game.
I love this web site becasue I think its about time blizzard stopped WOW its not really that great when you look at the real game. I say the real game becasue of how much story had to be changed to suit WOW and to tell the truth im a little pissed off about how much was removed, added, and just bent to make loot crazed nerds happy when the real fans want the good old hard core story and stunning RTS games. Lets face it RTS is warcraft and Starcraft leave RPG to Diablo.

I get sad when I read the above article. I play wow, its fun. But the story never changes. It stays the same throughout the WHOLE wow experience. Warcraft 4 could change that. It could let the story continue, through all 3 earlier warcraft games and expansions, the story captured millions of ppl, its just sad to find out that the possibility of Warcraft 4 is almost none.
I think Blizz has turned into real cash cows if they arent going to release(or even develop), warcraft 4.

If you like wow, and you don’t like the game, play dota online, I think you like it allot. You can also try 1000000000 of the other maps that has been craftfully made by other players.
